From the moment we arrived at Rum Point, my blood pressure started to decrease as my stress melted away, mind you in the midst of a pandemic! Our family was seeking fresh air, sunshine, sea and an opportunity to explore the diverse cultural offerings of Belize all while immersed in nature.
The location of Rum Point is the absolute best choice if you want to be as close to the sea as possible to soak up all of the benefits of the gentle lapping water sounds, a refreshing dip in the saltwater and an energizing paddle board session. We easily headed into Placencia to get groceries and treat ourselves to dinners and cocktails at Turtle Inn, just five mins away by car and 15 by walking the beach.
The amenities at the chic home are plentiful and we enjoyed feeling like locals as we cooked often and even felt safe entertaining guests since the setting is completely open air living. Our family of three longs to return to the lifestyle Rum Point effortlessly provides.

We felt at home as soon as we walked into Rum Point. The house achieves the perfect combination of welcoming and well-designed. It's perfectly equipped for having fun on the water, preparing a gourmet meal, enjoying a beach BBQ or playing board games. You can work, or rest, facing the glorious Caribbean or tropical foliage.
In addition to the home itself, our caring and attentive host Martin, and his friendly and knowledgeable team, made our two months at Rum Point a truly warm and memorable time. Whether we wanted fresh caught fish or local coconut water, needed a massage or an adventure, the team was always responsive.
Although the home is convenient to Placencia village and many dining options, it's hard to leave the perfect setting and we often stayed in, cooked or ordered dinner, and enjoyed the sound of the waves at the close of each day.

We just spent 2 wonderful weeks at Rum Point. I rate it a 10! The house and outdoor areas were extremely comfortable and had everything we needed.
When we arrived the owner, Martin had a basket full of all the foods we asked for. Fresh coconuts and bananas were brought to us from the garden during our stay! Whatever we needed or asked for Martin produced, including a doctor that my husband needed when he arrived.
Martin suggested things for us to do and see. He assisted us with absolutely everything, including scuba diving, snorkeling, massages, visiting Mayan Ruins, both on land and inside 15+ mile deep caves and grottos, amazing waterfalls where you can swim, restaurants and even a private island we could visit for the day with a wonderful BBQ lunch.
There were bicycles and paddle boards at the house for our use. Martin helped us rent a golf cart for our stay, so we could easily travel to town to eat and explore areas rather then bike everywhere. We also spent days where we never left the house because it was just so nice to on the beach or in the hammock reading a book.
I strongly recommend this home to anyone with discerning tastes that wants a beach holiday with much more.
